Doris Darlene Kreiner Klein, of Lincoln, died February 7, 2013 at the Journey House in Lincoln. Born March 29, 1925 at the family farm in Davey, NE to Charles and Edla Kreiner. She was the third of four children.
Doris attended a rural elementary school and graduated in 1942 from Northeast High School in Lincoln. Doris was married to Victor Norder of Bruning on June 6, 1948. The two soon moved into Victor’s parents’ farm home south of Bruning. There, they raised three children, Kent, Karla and Kevin.
In 1966 Doris lost her husband, Victor, in a car accident, after which she continued to raise her children and run the family farm until 1973 when she moved back home to the Kreiner family farm outside of Davey. Soon after, she met her current husband, Orville Klein, whom she married on July 12, 1980. Doris and Orville continued to live in and near Lincoln until she moved to Journey House in Sept. 2012.
Doris stayed busy with her sewing and crafts. She especially enjoyed caring for her flowers and camping with Orville. She dearly loved, and was loved by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Orville Klein of Lincoln; children, Kent Norder and wife Susan of Bruning; daughter, Karla Lubben and husband, Monte of Carleton; Kevin Norder and wife Susie of York. Stepchildren, Randy Klein and wife Kim of Bennet; John Klein and wife Michelle of Lincoln and Susan Schmersal and husband Ed of Lincoln. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 10:00 am Monday, (2-11-13) at Roper & Sons Funeral Home 4300 O Street, Rev. Kris Bohac officiating. Graveside 2:30pm (2/11/13) at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Bruning, NE with Memorial Service to follow at 3:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bruning, NE, Rev. Stuart Sell officiating.
