Donna Ruth Fredrickson Doerr

Donna Ruth Fredrickson Doerr, 83, of Lincoln, died 6/28/2015, of head injuries received in a fall at home. Born 10/27/1931 to Arthur H. and Isabelle McLean Fredrickson. Earned a BA in religious education at Macalester College. Married in 1953 to Larry Doerr.

In 1970, Larrys work as a campus pastor brought the family to Lincoln. Donna worked for the Cotner School of Religion, the Christian Church of Nebraska (Disciples of Christ), and the United Church of Christ Nebraska Conference. She was an active member of First Plymouth Congregational Church and, in recent years, of the churchs knitting group. Donnas specialty was childrens winter hats, hundreds of which were given to LPS elementary students.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband, the Rev. Lawrence E. Doerr. Survived by children Julia Doerr, Eric Doerr and his wife Opal ( Lincoln), Hillary Doerr Engelhart and her husband Darin (Appleton, Wis.); brother Arthur H. Fredrickson and his wife Anne (Springfield, Va.); grandsons Arthur and Oliver Doerr (Lincoln); three nieces, two grandnieces, four grandnephews.

Memorial service: 1 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at First-Plymouth Congregational Church, 20th and D Sts. with Rev. Dr. Jim Keck officiating. Private inurnment in church columbarium.
