Donald H. Pegler, Jr., 81, lifelong Lincoln resident, died Saturday (5/3/2008) at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Lincoln to Donald H. and Marian (Wood) Pegler Retired Chairman and CEO of Pegler-Sysco Co.
Memberships: Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Sigma Chi Fraternity, Board memberships include Sysco Corporation National Bank of Commerce, Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Co and Bryan Memorial Hospital.,. Founding Member and Past President of Affiliated Distributors, Inc, North American Food Service and United International Distributors, Inc., Served on the Board of Trustees for the University of Nebraska Foundation, Bryan Hospital and Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools. Captain of 1943 Boys State Golf Championship Team, Member/Past President of Lincoln Country Club of Lincoln, Founding Member of Sandhills Golf Club. 1991 recipient of the Trailblazer Award from International Distributor Magazine and was inducted into the Omaha Hospitality Hall of Fame in 2005.
