Don D Diehl, Jr., 66, of Lincoln, NE died Sunday, July 22, 2012, from complications of a cardiac arrest. Don was born to Don D. Diehl Sr. and Laverne Diehl Scott on April 7, 1946. Living in Havelock his entire childhood, with his surviving brothers, Jack and Mike, he had many friends. He graduated from Northeast High school in 1964 and served in the U S Navy until his injury in 1965. He worked for the Burlington Railroad and then the Goodyear plant until his retirement in 2000. In 1972, he married his wife, Linda Anne Schumacher. Don, an avid fisherman, was a member of the Lincoln Bass Club for many years. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge about fishing with whoever would listen to him. When Don retired in 2000, he spent at least 6 months of every year doing what he loved best – fishing. Don was a proud member of the Tightwad Missouri Fishing Fellows. He spent many happy hours on Truman Reservoir pursuing the elusive crappie and bass.
Don was preceded in death by a younger sister, JoAnn, his father, Don D. Diehl, Sr., his nephew, Shawn, several aunts, uncles, and other extended family members. He is survived by his wife, Linda Anne, his mother, Laverne and step-father, Bill Scott, his brothers, Jack and family, Mike and family, mother-in-law, Nancy Schumacher and brothers–in-law, Chuck Schumacher and family, and Rod Greenwood and family and many, many friends.
