Diana married the love of her life, Robert Kunath, in Kansas City, Missouri on November 6th, 1968. Together they welcomed three children and spent forty-one blissful years together until his passing on October 16, 2010.
Diana received her master’s degree from the University of Nebraska, which led to a fulfilling twenty-two-year career in the United States Air Force. She served as a biomedical lab officer and rose to the rank of Colonel before her honorable discharge in 1991. Diana enjoyed many simple pleasures and joys in life, from the companionship of her beloved cat, Macy, to tracing her family’s genealogy and learning the Spanish language.
She also had a fondness for corny reality TV, particularly Keeping Up with the Kardashians and 90 Day Fiancé. But above all, her greatest joy was her family. She loved them more than anything in the world and was endlessly proud of each and every one of them. She lit up whenever she spoke about her loved ones, always eager to share their accomplishments and celebrate their successes.
Diana is survived by her daughter; Jennifer Semmen of Lincoln, son, Michael Kunath of Lincoln, daughter-in-law; Traci Lonowski of Grand Island, grandchildren, Kennedy Gern of Lincoln, Hayley (Tucker) Goodman of Towner, ND, Reese Semmen of Lincoln, Dylan (Sam) Kunath of Lincoln, Dayton Kunath of Grand Island, Shannon (Brian) Esquivel of Chandler, AZ, and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, Bob, she was preceded in death by her infant son Richard Kunath, her parents Keith and Eudine Sexton , and her brother Douglas Sexton.
Diana was loved and cherished by her family beyond measure, and her absence will be deeply missed.
