Dennis D. Selvage

June 29, 1953 - September 6, 2024

Dennis D. Selvage, 71, of Lincoln passed away September 6, 2024. Born June 29, 1953, in La Mesa, CA to George and Nellie (Thornack) Selvage.

Dennis served in the U. S. Army’s 56th Artillery Brigade working with Pershing Missile System in Germany, and later serviced in the Army’s 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. Dennis served from June 18, 1971, through May 5 1974. Dennis spent a total of 2 yrs. 7 months overseas in both Germany and Vietnam. Dennis had many different jobs over the years, but the one he was most proud of was serving fellow veterans working at the Veterans Administration in Lincoln.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved working on cars, especially classic cars. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. Dennis also greatly enjoyed coaching Michael’s sports teams over the years. He was a long-time coach with Lincoln Midget Football’s Moose Lodge #185. Dennis also loved being able to watch his grandkids play their many different sports and activities.

Family members include his wife, Cheryl, son Michael and daughter in-law Sherri (Naber) Selvage, grandson Aaron, granddaughters Bailey, and Morgan, brothers Terry Selvage, Robert Selvage, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by daughter Cathleen Selvage, parents George and Nellie Selvage, and sister Linda.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2-4 pm Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
