Dennis D. Bartels, 68, Lincoln, passed away September 26, 2016. He was born January 25, 1948 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Eldo and LaVerne (Milius) Bartels and grew up on a farm near Western, NE. Dennis was a civil engineer with the City of Lincoln Public Works Dept.
Member of Messiah Lutheran Church where he served as a head usher for many years. Dennis was an accomplished woodworker.
Family members include his wife, Nylene; daughter, Chera (Aric) Wenzl; grandsons, Myles and Lukas; son, Chris (Haingeun) Bartels; parents, Eldo and Laverne Bartels; sisters, Joyce (Mike) Paul, Jana Barber and fiancé David Kohrell; brother, David (Kathy) Bartels; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday (9-30-16) Messiah Lutheran Church, 1800 S. 84th St. with Pastor John Kunze officiating.

Visitation: 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday with family present from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
