DeLoris “Dixie” Proctor Burden, 87, Lincoln, died Thursday, May 5, 2011. Born January 1924 in rural Diller, Nebraska to Harry and Ina Ione (Wiemers) Ahrends. Homemaker. Graduate of Fairbury High School Class of 1940. Married Harold L. Proctor in 1945 until his passing in 2000. Member, Redeemer Lutheran Church and Bryan Plaza Gym. Dixie enjoyed her church, family times, “Neighboring” and gardening. Married James Burden in 2004.
Family members include husband, James; daughters, sons-in-law, Jane and Lon TeSelle, Austin, TX, Beverly and Steve Rembold, Bemidji, MN; brother, Stanley Ahrends, Mountain City, TN; niece: Linda Ahrends, Marietta, GA; nephew, Jim Ahrends, Greensboro, NC; 4 step-children; 4 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great grandchild. Preceded in death by her first husband, Harold L. Proctor and parents.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (5-9-11) Redeemer Lutheran Church, 510 South 33rd. Pastor Mark Ebert, officiating. Private family burial.
