Mom was a great cook. I have and use many of her recipes. Everyone looked forward to all the delicious cookies and candy she made at Christmas time.

I always said Mom was my biggest fan. Through roughly 60 years of my musical performances, sometimes several in a weekend, she was always there listening and supporting. According to Mom, I never missed a note or had a bad performance. She was also an avid fan of any sporting event her family members participated in, from horse shows during my childhood to soccer, football and baseball games of her grandchildren. No matter the weather conditions, if they were playing, she was there to cheer. When asked last year what was most important to her, she answered her family and her God. She demonstrated this throughout her life through her faithful weekly church attendance and quiet Christian witness to family and friends.

Mom always hated her dimples, but wasn’t she a cute little girl?
