Delmar Julius Whitefoot, 90, of Lincoln, passed away November 15, 2017. Born January 16, 1927 in Boelus, NE to Albert and Lillie (Bernhagen) Whitefoot. Married to Lois Kruse on September 19, 1951, at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Boelus. U. S. Army Veteran where he served with the military police. Nebraska State Trooper for 30+ years. Served on the road, in the late 60’s was security detail for Gov. Frank Morrison and Gov. Norbert Tiemann, did communications for the state and in Administration where he did recruiting. He then did public relations for Pepsi, served on the Nebraska Safety Commission for seat belt law, and was a Red Coat for the legislature and at the airport. He enjoyed playing racquetball, playing cards, golfing, Husker volleyball and football and his favorite companion his corgi dog, Charlie.
Family members include his son, Bruce (Patti) Whitefoot, Waverly; daughter, Patti (Chris) Nielsen, Lincoln; grandchildren, Jacob (Katie) Whitefoot and Joshua Whitefoot, all of Lincoln, Lucas (Lisa) Whitefoot, Greenwood, Devin (Jenni) Nielsen , Drew Nielsen, and Brendan (Amanda Tosko) Nielsen, all of Lincoln; brother, Dale Whitefoot, Shelton; sister, Donna Eriksen, Boelus; and 14 great-grandchildren, Gianna, Hayden, Dylan, Mia, Luke, Jack, Emma, Lily, Layla, Nora, Ellie, Remy, Tate and Everly. Preceded in death by parents, wife, Lois (4-6-17) and granddaughter-in-law, Amanda J. Nielsen.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (11-21-17) First United Methodist Church, 2723 N. 50th with Rev. Larry Moffet officiating. Burial in the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery with the Nebraska State Patrol Honor Guard.
