Deane Allen Younkin, 81, Lincoln, passed away January 18, 2017. Deane was born on October 2, 1935, in Dorchester, NE, to Jay and Esther May (Scott) Younkin. He married Betty Damke on June 15, 1958, in Western, Nebraska. After serving in the U. S. Army Infantry and National Guard, he worked 46 years for Cushman Motorworks. After retirement from Cushman, he worked several years at Aging Partners. He was an avid game hunter and fisherman. He was a longtime member of Havelock United Methodist Church and Havelock American Legion Post #342.
He is survived by loving wife Betty, sister, Ruth Reim, Ashland,NE; sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Bonnie and John Nebelsick; many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by parents, older brother Wallace and older sister Margaret Schnell.
Memorial services 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Havelock UMC, 4140 N. 60th Street, Lincoln, NE. (07).
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Havelock UMC.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 25th, at Roper and Sons Funeral Home 4300 ‘O’ Street.
