David was the third-generation President of Burden Surplus Center, a proud graduate of Lincoln Southeast High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a generous benefactor of causes such as conservation, human rights, the arts, animal welfare, and many scholarship funds. David’s final act of generosity was donating his liver and kidney.
Survived by wife, Gianene Prentice; children John and wife Sadie, Mike and wife Sarah, Amanda Irions, all of Lincoln, and Alissa Irions of Eugene, Ore.; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Bradley.
Memorial services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive, with reception to follow.
