After graduation, David continued farming while managing the parts department with Rod’s Outdoor Power and later with Lincoln Turf and Tractor. He continued his work in parts and sales with Small Engine Specialists until his retirement. His home and family held the first place in his thoughts. David will be remembered for his great sense of humor, story telling, and his strong faith. He was a long standing member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete, Nebraska. We also want to thank the Bryan Health medical professionals who provided care for David during his final days. Their kindness and gentleness with David will never be forgotten by his family.

Jim worked with Dave at Midwest Power and had ordered parts from Dave when Dave worked at Rod’s outdoor Power, Lincoln Turf and Tractor and Small Engine Specialist. It was always a pleasure to talk with Dave and joke with him, he was always very friendly. Our daughter Cheri ( Looby) Montgomery was a classmate and friend of his daughter Susan when they went to Southeast High School. Sincere condolences to Joann and Families.

Went to school with David from Elementary through High School. Was as nice a person and friend as one could have. Always was kind and had a great sense of humor and a large grin! Sincere condolences to JoAnn and family. Will miss seeing David at any future reunions or casually meeting him at various locations in Lincoln.

Mr. Currie was one of the best people ever! I was his daughter Lisa’s best friend growing up and spent as much time at their house as I did my own. My favorite traits of Mr. Currie are his kindness and sense of humor. He made the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had! He also loved to tease me about the beef tongue that may or may not have been in their crockpot! Also, he was always happy to take Lisa and I anywhere, but we knew it was going to be a very safe and very slow ride! I will always have a special place in my heart for my second Dad!
