David Irwin Cook, 89, Lincoln, died Tuesday (2-26-08). Born Lincoln, NE (2-3-1919) to Clarence W. and Ida (Muschamp) Cook. Ret. Professor of Engineering, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for 39 years. WWII Army Veteran. Member: Westminster Presbyterian Church, Engineers Club of Lincoln, Craftsman Lodge #314, A.F. & A.M., Amateur Radio Club, A.S.E.E. life member, American Legion Post #3, Volunteer at Bryan Memorial Hospital 13 years.

Family members include wife: Genevieve; son, daughter-in-law: Allen James & Margaret Cook, Mahtomedi, MN; daughter, son-in-law: Sally Griffin & Mark Strader, Wooster, OH; 8 grandchildren; sisters: Ruth Ballou, Cleveland, OH; Lois Stanton, Greenville, MI. Preceded in death by son, Warren, parents, brother, Clarence, sister, Dorothy.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday (3-1-08) Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2110 Sheridan Blvd. Rev. Dr. Andrew McDonald and Rev. Camille Cook officiating.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Friday with family greeting friends from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Roper & Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street and one hour prior to service time at the Church.

Memorials to the University of Nebraska Foundation or Engineers Club of Lincoln Student Aid Fund or the Church.
