Obituary

Daniel Ray VanArsdall

November 24, 1957 - May 15, 2024

Daniel Ray VanArsdall, 66, of Lincoln passed away May 15, 2024. Born November 24, 1957, in Lincoln, NE to Robert and Rosie (Tichy) VanArsdall.

Dan was married to Jenifer Ems on October 27, 1977. Daniel worked for Reimers Kaufman Concrete Products for 38 years.  He enjoyed his work and co workers.  He was an honest, hardworking family man, and would help anyone.  Daniel always took pride in everything he did. He was very vocal and would speak his mind. He was known for his practical jokes, which he always got a kick out of.

His passions were his pets over the years, his muscle cars, street races at McCormick, Kearney Cruise Night, cruising, and road trips with the boys. Daniel loved farm life, and he loved cooking meals for his friends and family. He especially enjoyed making duck and dumplings, beef and noodles, and pineapple upside-down cake, to name a few.

Daniel’s biggest love was his family. His wife of 47 years, Jeni; Children, Shawn and Shannon; grandchildren, Trevor and Laila. He truly loved all of his family and friends; and was loved just as much by all that knew him. He will be missed beyond measure.

Family members include his wife, children, and grandchildren; brothers Robert (Tina) VanArsdall, Jr. and Scott VanArsdall; many other family members and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and son Shawn VanArsdall.

Funeral service: 2:00 pm Monday, May 20, 2024, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street with Pastor Kerry O’Bryant officiating. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery.
