I know that any words I say here will not be enough. We will miss Danny. We bonded over a high-strung ballerina named Bella and a Honey Wheat loaf of love named Elton. I will miss going to the back door and talking by the kitchen counter. Sometimes hitting the drawers that took forever to close again. Or how the time I was sure that men had entered the backyard with guns!! And we creeped to see it was the pool guys carrying tubes and vacuums on their backs. Oh man. And of course, all the texts and pictures of ‘our’ favorite Elton John. Admiring Danny is really an understatement.. He handled his illness with grace and a super strength. Always fighting hard to conquer. He loved his family fiercely. And as I lovingly hold ‘his good boy’ in my lap, you can rest easy my friend. He is loved. You will be forever remembered.

My sincerest condolences to all of Dan’s family. I remember Dan as an outstanding student in the UNL Civil Engineering where he was always a friendly, courteous, and cheerful individual. Dan also was a great supporter of his University and the Civil Engineering engineering program. God bless.
