I am so saddened to learn about Cheryl’s passing. She and her sister babysat for me and my younger brothers when we lived across the street from the Berkleys in Denison in the 1950s. Her family members were close friends: her mom and dad were best of friends with my parents, and in his later years, after he had retired as our Safeway store manager, Milt would join Dad, me, and Ralph Marten and we would drive to a casino for an afternoon of fun. Phil was a few years behind me in school. I only saw Cheryl a few times as an adult, the last time when my parents passed away in 2009. My sincere condolences to her family.

Cheryl helped me secure a loan for my first house, which was for sale by owner. I remember her straight talk as we dealt with the homeowners over a variety of issues. At one point, Cheryl exclaimed, “they are crazier than hell if they think we are going to accept that!”. She made me laugh! She had such a distinctive personality and surely left an impression on everyone she met. My condolences to her family.

Cheryl was the second mom of Goldenrod. Thank you for being such a role model to us. Your drive in business was impressive and your love appreciated.
