Charles D. Humble

April 18, 1943 - June 13, 2024

Charles D. Humble, 81, of Lincoln passed away June 13, 2024. Born April 18, 1943, in Santa Monica, CA to Charles and Norma (Buhmeier) Humble Rose.

Charles was a partner with Erickson & Sederstrom Law, L.L.C. He was a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and Lincoln Bar Association. Charles attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Family members include his daughter Lori (Tim) Stegall and their son Tanner, Lago Vista, TX; brother William Rose, Titusville, FL; former spouse Conny Humble, Meadowlakes, TX; and four nieces: Marnie Fredricks, Rozlyn Fredricks Brown, Robyn Jorgensen, and Mindy Stanchfield. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Darla Janeway. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Darla Janeway.

Charlie had a huge presence, you could feel the energy shift when he walked into a room. He brought positive energy to everyone he met. With a big smile and a great laugh, he made you feel like you were being brought into something really special. It was always a good conversation with Charlie. Some of the things he loved to spend time doing was following Husker sports and jazz concerts.

His Father and his Dad were pilots so he loved aviation. You could always find him attending events for the Blue Angels or at Duncan Aviation. He had a special interest in P38’s and B26’s.

Above all else, family was important to him. He made trips to Texas, Maine, and Florida to see his loved ones. He was at the events, big or small. We will miss his love, his support, and his presence. We loved him dearly and he is truly missed.

Funeral service: 1:00 pm Thursday, June 20, 2024, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 6001 A Street. Visitation with family present will be from 6-7:30 pm Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Memorials in lieu of flowers to Nebraska Public Media or Capital Humane Society.

What a great man and lawyer. Charlie was always ready to fly the E&S flag. He will be greatly missed. Eternal peace to you my friend.

Lori, Tim, Tanner and Conny, sorry for your loss. I worked with Charlie for 29 years at Erickson and Sederstrom Law Firm. Loved his infectious smile. He loved his Huskers!! Since retiring and having health problems, Denny and I have moved to Overland Park, KS to be closer to our daughter and her family. I’m so sorry we won’t be able to attend the funeral. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Sorry to hear about Charlie’s passing. I was a partner in the Omaha ES office while he was in Lincoln. He was a prince of a guy and a very good lawyer. I always enjoyed talking about everything Nebraska with him. We were lucky to have him with us in the practice of law. Unfortunately my family is dealing with some health issues and therefore will miss the service. Prayers to all his family.
