Carrol R. Meints, 87, of Lincoln, passed away on October 3, 2023. She was born on February 6, 1936, in Milford, NE, to Edward and Leona (McMahan) Klein.

Carrol spent many years working at Goodyear and Nebraska Book in various roles.

Family members include her daughter Marcella and son Gary; 3 grandchildren Amy, Eric and Troy; 7 great-grandchildren Breanna, Tyler Thomas, Emilee, Grace, Jack, Sydney, and Grayson; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emil, son Vernon, brothers, Arland, Dewhite, and Max, sister Lee Ann and granddaughter Megan.

Funeral Service to be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 9, 2023, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln (10). Viewing to be held 1 hr. prior to the service.

One of my favorite stories thru the years. My mom was 4 when her little sister (Carrol) was born the day before her birthday. My mother was upset, because their mom was in the hospital. At one point, once they were home, my mom put Carrol in a wagon and tried to sell her. Thankfully she wasn’t able to get her sold before being caught and the two were super close as adults.

Loved growing up with visits to Aunt Carrol’s (and family) Loved when she and Emil had their band and practiced in the living room. Emil did an awesome Johnny Cash, but Carrol was even better with Patsy Cline songs. She had an wonderful voice. Loved listening to stories of the band days. Totally loved her and will miss her more than anyone can imagine. Fly high sweet lady. You will be missed by so many.

Carrol was a beautiful soul; I enjoyed crocheting with her. She will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with you Marcella, Gary, Deanna and all the Family.
