Obituary

Brett Matthew Luddington

October 10, 1967 - January 19, 2021

Brett Matthew Luddington, age 53, of Lincoln, NE passed away on January 19, 2021, at Bryan Medical Center East from complications of pneumonia. Brett was born on October 10, 1967, in Grand Island, NE to Terry and Linda (Denman) Luddington. He graduated from Ogallala Senior High School while living with his grandparents, Francis and Gwen Luddington. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Brett worked much of his life in theatre production and food service. During the last few years the love of his life was being at Target South, Lincoln, as a barista in Starbucks. He considered his fellow Target employees part of his family. Also, he enjoyed the “regulars” who visited the coffee shop.

Brett had a fantastic, quick, witty sense of humor. He loved making people laugh. He was talented in drawing, making beautiful decorations, and creatively restoring junk into beauty. Brett especially loved being with his niece and nephew, Olivia and Matthew.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Linda Luddington of Grand Island; brother Lance Luddington of Grand Island; niece Olivia Luddington; nephew Matthew Luddington; aunt Dixie (Denman) Sanger; uncle Jim Denman; aunt and uncle Susan (Luddington) and Bill Peters; and numerous cousins. Brett was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, and super cool uncle Warren Sanger.
