Bernice E. Large, 93, Lincoln, died Thursday (6-10-10). Born (1-14-17) in Hiawatha, Kansas to Floyd and Gertrude (Stunz) Swartz. Ret. Manager, Bethany Grade School Cafeteria. Attended K-8 grades at Van Fleet Elementary School on the Wesleyan Campus. 1935 graduate of Jackson High School. Married to Norman Large on January 5, 1935. Member of Bethany Christian Church for over 60 years, involved in many church activities, taught Sunday School for 12 years, help coordinate the children for the Easter pageant. Lifetime PTA member. Active with the Campfire Girls and Cub Scouts.
Family members include son, daughter-in-law: Harry and Arlene Large; daughters, sons-in-law: Jane and Joe Mock, Maryanne and Ray Ross, all of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; brother: Floyd Swartz, Lincoln; sisters: Nettie Dragosh, Lucille McManus, both of Lincoln, Jean Callow, Riverside, CA. Preceded in death by husband, Norman, parents, brother, Clinton Swartz, sisters, Maxine Large and Marguerite Adams.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday (6-14-10) Bethany Christian Church, 1645 North Cotner. Rev. Harlan Johnson officiating.
