Bernard J. Moran D.D.S., 90, Lincoln, passed away, July 22, 2012. Bernie, another member of our country’s greatest generation, died Sunday after living a long and happy life. He was born March 22, 1922 in Presho, So. Dak. to J. Raymond Moran and Susan (McAreavey) Moran.
He enrolled at St. Thomas Univ., St. Paul, Mn and then enlisted in the Army Air Corp in Dec., 1941. Bernie was a B25 pilot during WWII. He married Anna Johnson, Kennebec, So Dak, in 1944. After the war, they moved to Lincoln where he graduated from UNL College of Dentistry in 1949, and practiced dentistry for 40 years. They raised a daughter, Janet Moran Baeder, and a son, Jim, who later joined him in his dental practice.
Bernie was preceded in death by wife Anna after 65 years of marriage, and besides his two children, he leaves 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grand children. Thank you, Bernie, from all of us who knew you, for your honor, kindness, and service to your country.
