Born April 12th,1942 in Kapolnyvka, Ukraine, Anna was the daughter of Katerina and Timothy Czereda. At the age of nine, she immigrated with her family to the United States, coming through Ellis Island before settling in Bertrand. Her family later moved to Lincoln, where she married Peter Lysenko on August 10, 1957. Anna and Peter raised their three children in Omaha and later moved to Ashland where they retired.
Anna worked for the Kellogg’s Company for over 40 years. She loved to travel and spent much of her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna was a collector of many things, and she was best known for being a nationally ranked collector of Precious Moments figurines.
Anna was preceded in death by her grandmother Maria Zaharchenko; her father Timothy Czereda, her mother and stepfather Katerina and Michail Shewcow; her brothers Michail and Alexander Czereda; her husband Peter Lysenko; and her great granddaughter Lacey Lysenko. She is survived by her children, son Joe Lysenko, daughter Nora (Rick) Cihacek, daughter Tanya Minnick; brother Wasily (Sarah) Cherida, sister Larisa (Deryl) Javorsky; granddaughters Jenny Lysenko, DeAnna Sanchez, and Natashia Minnick; grandsons Joey Lysenko, Adam Lysenko, and Douglas (Natalie) Minnick; 13 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with family present from 5-7 pm followed by the Panakhyda (memorial) service on Thursday, February 27th, at 7p.m., Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln, NE 68510.
Funeral Services will be held Friday February 28th, at 10 a.m., at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 950 N 63rd street, Lincoln, NE 68505.
