Angela was born on December 10, 1967 to Stanley and Catherine Walker in Battle Creek, Michigan. She grew up on a farm in Athens, MI and spent her childhood playing with her younger brother Stephen, helping tend the family garden and farm, attending Battle Creek Academy, and playing the piano and French horn.
After graduating from high school, she earned her Bachelors of Education from Western Michigan University. She moved to Mt. Pleasant and taught in a one room school until she married Roland Swanson on August 1st, 1993 and moved to Springfield, IL.
After several years of marriage, Angela and Roland started a family. Rebecca was born in 1999 and Andrew in 2002. During these years, they built their dream home in the country. While Roland pursued a career in aviation, Angela enjoyed homeschooling her children. The family was very active in the Springfield SDA Church throughout these years, where they made many lifelong friends.
In 2017, Roland’s career took the family to Lincoln, NE. Here, Rebecca earned her Bachelors of Nursing at Union College, where she met and married Cameron Pottle. Andrew started working on his journeyman’s license and met his Fiancé Chloe Whitmore. Angela enjoyed hosting Andrew and Rebecca’s friends from Union College every weekend; feeding them, having worships, game nights, and loving them like her own. The family is very involved in the Lincoln Northside SDA church, where the members are like family to them. In 2023, Roland and Angela pursued their dream to live in the county again, purchasing and building on a small acreage outside of Lincoln, NE. Here, Angela ran her cleaning business and enjoyed taking care of her family until her death.
She is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Walker. She is survived by her husband Roland Swanson, her daughter Rebecca (Swanson) Pottle and her son-in-law Cameron Pottle, her son Andrew Swanson and his fiancé Chloe Whitmore, her brother Stephen Walker and wife Naghielly Walker of Battle Creek MI, and her mother Catherine Walker of Battle Creek MI.
