Alvie served in the U. S. Air Force during WWII and U. S. Marines during the Korean War. He retired from Wentz Heating & Plumbing after 30 years in 1982 and also was the former partner of “The Keg” tavern.
Alvie was a member of The American Legion Post #342, VFW #131, DAV Chapter 7, and Steamfitters & Plumbers Local Union #464.
Family members include his sons Steven and Kenneth Kirkendall, Lincoln; brother Archie Kirkendall, Omaha; and four nieces. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna, and brother Gene Kirkendall.
