After many losses, and with the help of IVF, Kevin and Sarah were overjoyed to learn of Sarah’s pregnancy with twins in July of 2023. Almira and her brother Aiden were the long-awaited rainbow babies joining their parents on Earth. Almira and Aiden were loved by so many people from the beginning. They joined their parents in traveling throughout their pregnancy to concerts, different states, and many Husker events.
Almira’s lifespan was limited because she was born with a fatal birth defect, alobar holoprosencephaly. Almira Rose lived shy of three weeks but brought her parents so much joy during that time. She was surrounded by love for her entire life, doted on by her parents, family, and friends. Almira Rose initially surprised her parents with the amount of fight and determination she showed by eating from a bottle and lighting up the room. She was comforted by her twin brother, Aiden, with whom she will always share a special bond.
Almira Rose’s journey and family were supported by the hospice organization Endless Journey. Staff at Endless Journey helped the family tremendously during this difficult time, supporting them with music therapy and a chaplain, among other things. During her short life, Almira had a profound effect on so many people and touched the lives of many family and friends. Almira Rose lives on through those who loved her and will be remembered for her determination and easy-going personality.
Almira Rose is survived by her parents, Kevin and Sarah, her twin brother Aiden, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, her great-grand father, and many great aunts and uncles.
Almira Rose was preceded in death by a sibling, her maternal grandmother Pam Seberger, and many great-grandparents.
A memorial service is being held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street, with Paster Rebecca Hjellie officiating.
Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
