Alice Mae Hickey

April 25, 1926 - July 26, 2018

Alice Mae Hickey, 92, of Lincoln, passed away July 26, 2018. Born April 25, 1926 in Huntington, West Virginia to Charles and Verda (Shinn) Combs. Married to her loving husband Richard for over 65 years. Retired teacher for Lincoln Public Schools after 20 years. Member of Christ United Methodist Church and Lincoln Teachers Association. Alice enjoyed traveling, baking apple pies, playing bridge (belonged to several bridge groups) and was an avid reader.

Family members include her son and family, Thomas and Linda, Overland Park, KS grandchildren David, Diana and Jason Beckman, great-grandchildren Henry, George and Jake Beckman; daughter and family, Pat Kurtenbach, Lincoln, NE, grandchildren Aaron and Ben, great-grandchildren Jazzlyn, Josh, and Caden Kurtenbach; daughter and family, Pam and Richard Ogden, Chapman, NE, grandchildren Betsy (deceased), Ty (deceased), Lora and Scott Norlen and Emily and Matt Kurz, great-grandchildren Ellie, Carley and Sidney Norlen, Sam and Oliver Kurz; daughter and family, Peggy and Paul Wardell, Plymouth, MN, grandchildren Patrick and Carolyn Wardell; sister, Helen Baxter, CA.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (7-31-18) Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive (40th & Yankee Hill Rd) with Pastor Jim Miller officiating. Prior private interment.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools or the Lincoln Lighthouse.

Visitation: 3- 7:30 p.m. Monday with family present from 6-7:30 p.m. at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel.
