Alden “Coach Aldie” Johnson, 90, Lincoln, passed away November 17, 2016. Born October 4, 1926 in Buffalo County, Nebraska to Rev. Arthur and Irma (Peck) Johnson. U. S. Navy Veteran. Ret. after 41 years as School Teacher/Coach, Lincoln High School, Waverly High School, and Minden High School. Member of Christ United Methodist Church (57 yrs), President Emeritus Cornhusker Boys State, American Legion Post #3, V.F.W., Executive Club, Nebraska High Schools Hall of Fame, National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Lincoln High School Hall of Fame, and past president Nebraska Coaches Association.
Family members include his wife, Shirley; sons, Jeff Johnson (Theresa Scherer), Lincoln, Lee Johnson, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Jake Johnson (Kelly McCormick), Boulder, CO, Jaimie (Justin) Monroe, Omaha; sister, Ruth Dalke, Beatrice; sister-in-law, Claryce Ketterer, Lincoln; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Don and sister, Lois.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (11-22-16) Christ United Methodist Church, 4530 ‘A’ Street with Rev. Richard Randolph officiating.
