Alan Layton Kitto (Kiyo), Jr., 53 of Lincoln passed away in a traffic accident on August 5, 2015. Born 3/3/1962 to Alan Layton Kitto Sr. and Beatrice A. Coffey. As a teen Alan Jr. wrestled in the SD State Competitions, Junior Olympics, and Can Am games in Canada for MI and also ran Grandmas Marathon in Duluth, MN twice.
Alan Jr. was retired 1st Lieutenant in the Army reserves and had a degree in Political science (B.A.) His Akicita ways would forbid him to accept anything of monetary value. In his vision quest he followed the instruction to lead a humble life. He was known in the community for his talents as a musician as he played for three nursing homes and one church in Lincoln, and Alan Jr. was also a volunteer community activist.
Kiyo gave boldly to his community and was well loved. To supplement his income he was a construction worker and a dedicated worker at Laundry Land.
Funeral services: 11:00 a.m. 8/10/15, Santee Sioux Community Center, Santee, NE. Wake on Saturday 8/8 7:30 p.m. and Sunday 8/9 7:30 p.m., at Santee Sioux Community Center.
