John Joseph Mozdzen, 94, formerly of Lincoln, died Saturday, November 19, 2011, in Nashville, TN. Born October 1, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois to Sebastian and Florence (Kalupa) Mozdzen. He played trumpet in several Chicago dance bands including Bob Lane and Ollie Moe. He was a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army Air Corp in WWII. Ret. Lancaster County Deputy Treasurer, he also worked for the Pershing Auditorium and Dick Flynn Buick dealership. He was a member of St. John The Apostle Catholic Church.
Family members include son, daughter-in-law: John Mozdzen, Jr. and Patricia Holly, Ann Arbor, MI; daughters, sons-in-law: Ruth Ann and Gordon Nelsen, Valentine, NE, Wendy (Lunsford/Mozdzen) and Allen Gaiser, Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Emillia and Alyssa Mozdzen, Jim and Jennifer Nelsen. Wesley (Lunsford) Wade, Zak and Robert Lunsford; brother, sister-in-law: Alfred and Mariam Mozdzen, Countryside, IL.; sister-in-law Evelyn Mozdzen, Oak Lawn, IL. Proceeded in death by parents, wife Marjorie, son Stanley.
