Roger E. Way, 72, of Lincoln, passed away August 16, 2016 after a long battle with Parkinsons, two days after his 51st wedding anniversary. Born March 29, 1944 in Lincoln, NE to Willard and A. Maxine (Peterson) Way. Ret. Electronics Engineer, Telex/Bosch Company.
Worked in the banking business at First National Bank (1966-1989). Graduate of the University of Nebraska. Served as Communications Sergeant in the Nebraska Army National Guard, 67th Support Battalion (1965-1972). He was a member of the Lincoln Area Model Railroad Club, Lincoln Amateur Radio Club and Toastmasters for 18 years. Roger loved trains, Ham radio, cats, music and home cooked meals. A beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather.
Family members include his wife, Shirleen; daughter, Melinda (Eric) Stone; grandchildren, Rebecca and Isabelle Stone, Jayden Way; sister, Mona Way and life partner, David Littrell.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (8-22-16) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street with Pastor Kerry O’Bryant officiating.
