Sally Shepard (Raglin) Marshall, age 89. Passed away Sept. 21, 2016 at Tabitha Seagren House, Lincoln, NE. Born May 21, 1927 (the day Charles Lindbergh landed in Paris,upstaging Sally’s mother) in Kansas City, MO, to Louise and Burwell Shepard. A graduate of Bennett Jr. College, Millbrook, NY, Sally attended Kansas University where she wasa member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.
She married James (Jim) H. Raglin of Independence,KS, in 1948. They moved to Lincoln in 1951 where Jim began working for the Lincoln Journal-Star. Sally’s career as a fashion artist included 12 years working for Gold’s department store and then 20 years for Hovland-Swanson. Sally volunteered as a docent for 27 years at Sheldon Museum of Art, and is a life member of the Sheldon Art Association. Six years after Jim’s death in 1993, Sally married Dr. R.P. (Dick) Marshall and they spent 16 wonderful years together before his passing late last year.
Survived by sons, Steve Raglin of Omaha, Jack Raglin and wife Tatiana Kolovou, Bloomington, IN; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Wayne Meints, Jane and Mark Holt, all of Lincoln; Grandchildren, Sam Meints, Eric Holt, Allison Holt, Melina Raglin, Alexi Raglin; brother and wife, Burley and Irene Shepard, Denver, CO; stepson and wife, Dick and Liz Marshall, their daughter Sydna, all near Austin, TX; stepdaughter, Corrina Marshall, her son and wife Deneb and Tracy Irvin, their daughters Mackenzie and Kennessey, all of San Francisco. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 45 years, Jim Raglin (1993); son, Mike Raglin (1996); sister, Louise Falls (2011); husband of 16 years, Dick Marshall (2015).
A memorial service will be held at 11am on October 1 at Roper & Sons Mortuary, 4300 O Street in Lincoln. Private burial to follow.
