Lillian A. (Lynn and Mormor) Lang, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at the Landing, Memory Support, Lincoln, Nebraska. Lynn was born on May 20, 1927 in Postville, Iowa to Ben and Amanda (Baker) Erickson the day Charles Lindberg began his flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Lynn grew up on the family farm and attended East Clermont Lutheran Church.
She graduated from Postville High School in 1944 and served 4 years in the United States Air Force. After her service, she became a legal secretary in San Francisco California. Lynn met her husband Hugh E. (Chic) Lang in San Francisco and they were married in 1956. They had two children, Catherine D. Lang and John J. Lang.
The family enjoyed the adventure of life in the United States Navy where Chic served as an officer and Naval Aviator until 1969. Lynn will be with others who have gone before her: her husband, her parents, two brothers and one of her three sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Catherine D. Lang and John Conley, Omaha, Nebraska and children: Orion and Jennifer Morrissey, and their children Phin and Jax Morrissey of Renton, Washington; Patrick Morrissey of Renton, Washington; and Zachary Morrissey of Lincoln Nebraska. She is survived by her son John J. Lang and his wife Brenda, and children: Marcus and Mason Lang all of Fort Collins, Colorado. Lynn was active in Sheridan Lutheran Church, The Navy Wives and Sheldon Museum of Art. She loved volunteering at Hill Elementary School.
No formal services are planned. The family will honor her love and support in a private ceremony in the mountains of Summit County, Colorado.
