Gayle D. Mandeville, 82, of Lincoln, passed away August 21, 2016. Born September 14, 1933 in Union Mills, IN to Oliver James (O.J.) and Drusella Elizabeth (Carpenter) Mandeville. Ret. Minister at Zion Congregational Church. U. S. Air Force Korean Conflict Veteran. Member of Christlife Church in Lincoln, American Legion Post in Hickman, NE and America Legion in Elgin, ND where he served as Chaplain. Gayle also served as chaplain for the Lincoln Police Department. He loved to spend his free time playing golf.
Family members include his wife, Sylvia; son, Stephen (Nikki) Mandeville, Lincoln; daughters, Benita (Ken) Kelly, Lincoln, Corinna (Will) Crabb, Seward; grandchildren, Christopher Mandeville, Elliott Mandeville, Eliana Kelly, Emma Kelly and a baby boy due in November, all of Lincoln; sister, Norma Jean Van Arman, Tyler, TX; brother, Daniel (Vicki) Mandeville, Athens, TX; half-brothers, Dennis Mandeville and Bud Brennan, both of Indiana; half-sisters, Lydia Miller, Indiana and Boenita Jakabsen, Norway. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Michelle Mandeville and sister, Joan Cameron.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday (8-26-16) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street with Pastor Justin Adams officiating. Burial at a later date in the Omaha National Cemetery.
