Earl E. “Skip” Eno

December 9, 1937 - February 27, 2016

Earl E. “Skip” Eno

Earl E. “Skip” Eno, Ballwin, MO, was called to his Heavenly Father on February 27th, 2016. He was born in Polk, Nebraska on December 9th, 1937, son of Gordon and Velda (Stahnke) Eno.

Skip was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, attending Teachers College High School from 1951-1955 and graduating from the University of Nebraska in 1959. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Plautz, that same year on October 17th.

Skip was employed for 33 years at the Federal Highway Administration as a Financial Manager. He worked in many state capitols throughout his career, including Des Moines, Baton Rouge, Topeka and lastly Jefferson City, where he resided for 40 years.

As a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, MO, Skip served several positions, including President and Chairman of the Elders. He was dedicated to the Lutheran Hour Ministries, serving for 33 years under their mission of Bringing Christ to the Nations. One of his favorite activities was to sing in the Men’s choir and Mixed choir.

Skip was active in Associated Government Accountants (AGA) throughout his career, helping to establish local chapters.  He served on the United Way of Central Missouri board for 37 years.  Skip belonged to the Jefferson City Garden Club, as well as the Central Missouri Mustang Club.

Traveling was a particular passion of Skip’s, as he and Shirley were on the road during every phase of their life. His love for crossing bridges, traveling through mountains, and seeing the next horizon was passed to all his daughters.

Always quick with a joke, Skip enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, collecting coins, the St. Louis Cardinals and his Ford Mustangs. He was an avid photographer, documenting anything and everything. Skip was a true Husker fan, carting his family to dozens of Big Red games.

He left Nebraska, but Nebraska never left him. Skip was extraordinarily proud to be an Eno.

Skip was preceded in death by his oldest brother Gene Eno and older brother Bob Eno.

Skip is survived by his wife Shirley, daughters: Tami (Matt) Regan, Rochelle Eno, Nicholle (Steve) DeLorez, and Wendy Eno, grandchildren: Paige and Patrick Regan and Nola and Vivienne DeLorez, sister Melodee (Tommie) Thompson, and many family members that meant so much to him.

Visitation is Saturday, March 5th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral, at Roper & Sons Funeral Home in Lincoln, NE.

Interment is at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Lincoln, NE.

Memorials may be given in Skip’s name to Lutheran Hour Ministries, lhm.org.
