Kyle Arthur Dyas

June 23, 1968 - March 6, 2011

Kyle Arthur Dyas, 42, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 in Denver, Colorado. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on June 23, 1968, to Carol Ann (Johnson) and Hess Dyas. After graduating from Lincoln Southeast High School, he attended the University of Northern Colorado, where he graduated with a B.A. degree in Speech Communications. He served in the Colorado Air National Guard and joined KUNC Public Radio as staff announcer becoming music director of the station in 2002.

Kyle’s true passions in life were promoting the arts, making connections with the community and ultimately seeking ways to educate, inspire and bring humor into people’s lives. During this time he performed in many plays in local Greeley and Fort Collins theaters and was Master of Ceremonies for many music programs in Northern College.

He enjoyed the beautiful outdoors of Colorado by biking, running and hiking in the mountains. He completed the Pike’s Pike Ascent 28 times.

Kyle loved and was loved by his family: Carol Ann Wiley, mother; Hess Dyas, father; Jim Wiley, stepfather; Nancy Dyas, stepmother; Heidi Dyas-McBeth, sister, and husband Bill; Keating Dyas, brother, and wife Paula; nieces Caitlin McBeth, Samantha Dyas; nephews Keagan McBeth, Ethan Dyas; stepsisters, Julie VanWinkle, Rebecca Wrasse; stepbrother, John Wrasse. Very special friend Michelle Venus and her children Devon and Cai.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. S.M. Dyas.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Lincoln Unitarian Church, 6300 A Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Rev. Fritz Hudson, officiating.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to KUNC – Community Radio for Northern Colorado, 1901 56th Ave., Suite 200, Greeley, Colorado 80634-2950 or donor’s charity of choice.

No Visitation/Cremation.
