Chong Ye Knievel

Chong Ye Knievel was born July 10, 1950 in Seoul, Korea to parents Hong Soon Young and Kim Woon Sik and passed away in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii on February 17, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was 66 years young and taken from us far too soon.

Chong met, fell in love and married Christopher Knievel twice and had 3 children, Nancy, Melissa and Chris Jr. with him. Chris brought her from Korea to Nebraska in 1972 where she found a home in countless hearts. She worked at Square D for 30 years until she retired in 2005. She was passionate about gardening and made the most beautiful flower arrangements both for friends and family as well as professionally. Chong came to her faith in 1989 and found great strength in her beliefs and within her church.

Chong was an amazing cook and Chris and the rest of the family will forever miss far too many dishes which she filled with love and her own special gift which have passed with her.

Chong will be dearly missed by her husband Chris, her children Nancy & Colin, Melissa & Alex, and Chris Jr, her grandson Logan and her future grandchildren as well as the many brothers and sisters, both natural and by marriage, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and countless friends whose lives she touched with her love and endless generosity. She will forever be in our hearts.

A Celebration of Chong’s life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln. Pastor Dong Hyun Cho officiating. Visitation on Friday, March 10 2017, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons Funeral Home.
