James Robert “Jim” McGrath, 74, of Lincoln, went home peacefully to his heavenly father on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Born May 31, 1938 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Leonard A. and Lillian E. (McClellan) McGrath. Ret. Fabricator for Brunswick Corporation.
U. S. Air Force and Navy Veteran. Member: St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and American Legion Post #3.
Jim enjoyed camping, fishing, Nebraska football, western books and Clint Eastwood movies. He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family members include his wife, Shirley; daughters, Robin Lynn (Mike) Byerly, Donna K. (Steve) Dare, all of Lincoln; sons, Robert James (Becky) McGrath, Eagle, Rodney D. (Elizabeth) McGrath, Lincoln; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; step-sister, Patricia Bosshart, Holmen, WI; sisters-in-law, Donna Mach, Beverly Theye and Delores Bartlett, all of Lincoln, Oralie McGrath, Yuma, AZ; brother-in-law, sister-in-law, Raleigh and Mary Owen, Hutcheson, KS; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son Reuben, parents, step-mother Marie McGrath, brother Leonard “Skeeter” McGrath, step-brother George Smith, father-in-law, mother-in-law Raleigh and Goldie Owen, brother-in-law, sister-in-law Carl and Joyce Owen.
Rosary: 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Fr. Janusz Marzynski, officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 8:00 a.m. Friday until rosary at Roper and Sons.
