Maysel Inez Scott Flamuth Goss, 90, of Lincoln, NE died Thursday, September 20, 2012. Born March 15, 1922 in Victoria, Missouri to Colby Newton and Estella Elsie (Treft) Scott. Ret. Secretary for the Mascoutah School District.
Married to Robert Paul Flamuth in DeSoto, MO on October 12, 1941. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1966. On December 16, 1967 she married Milton Goss in Mascoutah, IL. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1989. Maysel graduated from DeSoto High School. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and the Women’s Guild in Mascoutah, IL, Ladies of the Moose Lodge, and DAR Silver Creek Chapter.
Maysel loved her family, friends and God. She enjoyed visiting with people and catching up on the news, she worked the crossword puzzle daily, loved music and singing in the choir. Maysel was a loving wonderful mother and grandmother and we thank God for her 90 years with us.
Maysel is survived by her daughter Judith Ann Flamuth Schmidt; grandchildren Tina Schmidt (Rick) Reeble, Eric Schmidt, Arthur Schmidt IV; great grandchildren Chloe, Zachary and Rory Reeble; son-in-law Arthur Schmidt III; stepson Jon (Janet) Goss; grandchildren John (Mary) Goss, Jr., Jean (Cordell) Whitebird), Jeff (Melissa) Goss; great grandchildren Matthew, Adam and Austin Goss; step-daughter-in-law Jalane Goss(wife of stepson James Goss, deceased); grandchildren Yvonne (Don) Williams, Paula (Jeff) Buritsch, Edward (Rhoda) Goss, Robert (Amanda) Goss; great grandchildren Tiffany and Teresa Williams, Jenny, Michelle, and Jeff Buritsch, and Kendra Goss; sister Betty Coleman; sisters-in-law Mary C. Hammond, June Lucas, and Bess Flamuth; nieces, nephews and families David Flamuth, Connie Portel, Sherry Vogt, Victoria Martin, Colby Scott, Vincent Coleman, Michael Coleman (deceased), Ellen Frazier, Kitty Dixon. Preceded in death by husbands Robert Flamuth and Milton Goss, brothers Everett and Harold Scott, brothers-in-law Vincent Coleman, Leonard Pranger, Forrest Flamuth, Vermont Flamuth, sisters-in-law Corrine Flamuth, Ellen Pranger, Florence Flamuth, stepson James Goss.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 13 W. Church Street, Mascoutah, IL. Private interment. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to service time.
