William L. “Bill” Yost

January 1, 1928 - October 28, 2010

William L. “Bill” Yost, 82, Lincoln, died Thursday, October 28, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born to Loverne B. and Zella (Van Gilder) Yost in Brunswick, NE. He grew up in Coleridge, NE and after graduating high school, attended UNL where he graduated with a degree in journalism. After UNL he went to Stuart, NE, Bicknell, IN, and then Madison, NE serving as newspaper editor. He met his wife, Jean (Meisinger), and they were married on October 10, 1954. After Madison, Bill served as newspaper editor in Aurora, NE, and Broomfield, CO. He then began his career in the printing business, working at printing companies in Boulder, CO, North Platte, NE, and he retired from Christensen Printing Company in Lincoln, NE.

He is survived by; son and daughter-in-law: Todd and Shonna Yost, and grandsons: Joshua and Christopher of David City; daughter: Michelle Yost and granddaughter Aubrey Yost of Lincoln; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife, O. Jean Yost and parents.

Celebration of Life: 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2010, Christ Lutheran Church, 4325 Sumner St., Lincoln, NE. Pastor Luke Schnake officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to the family for future designation.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday with family greeting from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln, NE.
