Bruce Douglas Rush, 53, of Lincoln, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on April 27, 2010, after a short courageous battle against cancer. Bruce was born in Anselmo on Sept. 23, 1956, to Bart and Vada (Leep) Rush. Bruce was employed at Truck Equip-ment.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche G.; sons and daughter-in-laws, Jack (Tisha) Gropp, Jon (Cassy) Gropp; daugh-ter and son-in-law, Jodie (Kevin) Barnes; daughter and friend, Josilen Rush and Jason Jones; mother, Vada Rush; sisters and brother-in-laws, Marilyn (Kenny) Jackson, Deb (Joe) Smith; sister, Cheryl Phillips; grandchildren, Cha-rissa DeGrave, Zack Gropp, Jack Gropp, Hanna Barnes, Jaelyn Gropp; brother-in-law, George Silbersack; sister-in-law, Joyce Richtarik; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Bart Rush; and brothers, Byron and Bradley Rush.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 1, at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ St., Lincoln. Please dress casual, blue jeans preferred.
Memorials are suggested to the family. An open house will follow the memorial service at Bruce and Blanche’s home.
No visitation and cremation was chosen.
