He is survived by his two daughters, Tia Scheel, Tiffany Brunt, grandson Terryen Brunt, brother Mark Scheel and father Emil Scheel, who were the light of his life and a source of deep pride and love.
Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lana Scheel, and his mother, Ruth Scheel.
Paul was a spontaneous soul who lived life with energy and joy. He loved nothing more than hopping on a boat or jet ski and heading out on the lake, soaking up the sun for hours. He laughed hard, but loved even harder — fiercely, freely, and without hesitation.
He began his career working for Coca-Cola, where his hard work and quick thinking stood out early on. Never one to sit still, Paul was the kind of man who would just as quickly strap on a tool belt and get to work fixing whatever needed tuning up. His hands were always busy, and his heart was always in it.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held 11:00 am- 1:00 pm Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Pine Lake Heights Apartments, 7015 South 38th Street, Lincoln, NE.
Paul’s warmth, adventurous spirit, and deep love for his family will be remembered always. He will be deeply missed.
