Obituary

Kadin A. Kline

July 31, 1995 - February 7, 2025

Kadin Kline, a loving friend, devoted dad, cherished brother, beloved son, significant other, and valued coworker, passed away on February 7, 2025. Kadin was born on July 31, 1995, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Kevin Kline and Kristin Clyne. He grew up in Lincoln, surrounded by his siblings, who were not just family but also his closest friends.

Kadin attended Lincoln Southwest High School and continued his education at Southeast Community College in Milford, where he discovered his passion for machining. For the past eight years, he dedicated himself to his work, taking immense pride in his craft.

Outside of his career, Kadin had a love for gaming, especially his favorite, RuneScape. He was also an avid collector of Pokémon cards—a hobby he cherished and shared with his children, teaching them the joys of collecting and playing.

Kadin was a proud father to three beautiful children: Ivy Rose, Finnley Alexander, and Benson James, who were the lights of his life. He shared a special bond with them, and the joy he brought into their lives will forever be remembered. Alongside his role as a father, Kadin was a loving partner to his soulmate, Joslyn Ballou, with whom he shared 11 wonderful years.

Family meant everything to Kadin, and he always made it a priority to show his love—whether through a witty joke or a warm hug. He deeply loved his parents, Patrick and Kristin Clyne, and Kevin and Amy Kline; his grandparents, Donley and Julia Gerbig, and Dean and Emily Kline; his brothers and sisters, Spencer and Amanda Stark, Daegan and Alanna Hunt, Holly Kline, and Ellie Kline; and his nephews and nieces, Hudson Stark, Braxton, Juliet, and baby Hunt, who is due in May. Lastly, he cherished his longtime best friend, Boo.

Kadin will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will continue to shine through the lives he touched.

Kadin is survived by his partner, Joslyn Ballou, 28; his daughter, Ivy Rose Kline, 7; and his sons, Finnley Alexander Kline, 5, and Benson James Kline, 1. He was raised by his mother, Kristin Clyne, and stepfather, Patrick Clyne, along with his father, Kevin Kline, and stepmother, Amy Kline. Kadin is also survived by his siblings: Amanda Stark (Spencer Stark), Alanna Hunt (Daegan Hunt), Holly Kline, and Ellie Kline. He is survived by his loving paternal grandparents, Emily and Dean Kline, and is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donley and Julia Gerbig.

I didn’t get to know him on a deeper level like I would have wanted to due to being shy and slow to get to know people, but never once did I feel uncomfortable around Kadin. He’s always so kind and his humor may be different than most, but it never felt backhanded and you could tell despite some of them being corny that he never had ill intent. It always made me happy to hear my husband having so much fun in Kadin’s company when playing games or just via messages over social platforms. I got a glimpse into their relationship via discord messages, that they were generous and let me into, when we played the new zombie game together- Call of Duty BO6. We would each have our own areas where we would train zombies (meaning in this context we would run circles to make them all line up to attack them easier instead of them being spread out), and often times I would run through his spot when mine got overwhelming and mess him up….sometimes it was on purpose to mess with him lol. He never complained though, it was all fun. I remember many times on higher levels he would go down and I would just keep running back and reviving him only for him to be swarmed again and go down again. It was hopeless but it was funny all the same. I also will always remember going on double dates with him and Joslyn, and their children. <3 Texas Roadhouse was a frequent place we would go and a memory that stands out is watching him help corral his kis as they tried to climb on the seats or under the table. Even in his discipline you could tell how much he absolutely loved his children, and you could tell how much they love him and how much he means to them, too. I’ll remember the 4th of July outtings at his parents’ house. I’ll remember the birthday parties. He was always running around doing stuff with everyone there, and you could see how loved he was among everyone. I’ll remember the happy family(s) he’s apart of, and the genuine love among them all. I’ll remember him being our best man at our wedding, and how charming he looked (even with his mullet lol, who could sport one better though?), and how supportive and happy he was. I’m so glad that Boo had such an amazing person by his side throughout his life. Thinking back on those memories right now is hard, and it’s easy to want to shy away from doing them ever again since it won’t be the same. I don’t think that’s what he would want though, and with time we could try and continue these things in honor of him. To celebrate what we had and what we still carry in our hearts. Kadin is still there, even if not physically, and we can share his legacy by living in a way that he lives on.

To this day, Kadin is one of my favorite former 5th graders to grace the halls of Cavett Elementary. He was such a nice kid…always smiling and so kind. I am so very sorry to hear of Kadin’s passing. Looking at the pictures…he still looks the same…just bigger. Prayers of strength, love and comfort to you all.

I will always love you. You made me laugh, you made me cry, you were my rock through the hardest of times. Promise to take care of Ms. Joslyn, and the children. Be at rest son, I know you were tired.
