Robert “Bob” Fred Butcher, Jr., 90, of Lincoln passed away January 13, 2025. Born August 3, 1934, in Lincoln, NE to Robert and Phyllis (Young) Butcher.

Bob was a Korean War Veteran that served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He retired as manager of auto and grounds at Roper and Sons Funeral Home where he worked for many years.

Family members include his daughters N. Ann (Bob) Sampson and Janine (John) Nemec; sons Robert Butcher and Jon (Mary J.) Butcher; grandchildren Joseph (Jen) Sampson, Jacob Sampson, Megan Butcher and Erin Butcher (Wes Gorans); 6 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and wife Naomi.

Private graveside service.

Jon, Bobby, Ann and Janine, I’m your cousin, Don and Jennie Young’s son. I’m so sorry I didn’t hear about your dad’s passing. I would certainly have come to any memorial that he had. The best I can do is pass along my sincere condolences to everyone. The last time I talked to your dad was a few years ago when I stopped by to chat. He was having some health issues at the time but carried on a nice conversation about past relatives we shared. I really intended to return to visit him but never did make it, unfortunately.

Bob, Jon, Ann, Janine and your families, I am so very sorry to see that your dad has passed away. I have so many wonderful and fun memories of coming to your house when we were young kids and our moms would get together for coffee or our families would get together. your dad was always so nice and friendly. I remember when our dad passed and the day of his service, your dad was one of the first to reach out to me and make sure I was ok. I have never forgotten that. My prayers and condolences to each of you during this hard time.
