Joe was a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and was a Certified Public Accountant and a Finance Executive for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Nebraska Alumni Association.
Family members include his wife, Helen; daughters Alice Ostdiek, Bainbridge Island, WA, Nancy (Daniel) Johnson, Lake Mary, FL; grandchildren Juliana and Katelyn Johnson, Samantha Ostdiek-Erler; siblings Glen Ostdiek, Leland (Joyce) Ostdiek, Dorothy Bradley, Lou Ann Mitton, Patricia (Robert) Golka, Lawrence (Diane) Ostdiek, Julene (Richard) Sullivan, and Allen (Nancy) Ostdiek; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in passing by his parents and siblings Alfred, Marion, and Robert Ostdiek, and Mary Alice Meyer.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29, 2024, beginning at 5:00 pm with Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm at the church.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 am Wednesday, July 31, 2024, St. Cecelia Catholic Church, 620 N. Kansas Ave., Hastings, NE. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lawrence, NE.
Memorials to American Cancer Society, AseraCare Hospice, or HC & LC Ostdiek Scholarship Fund at University of Nebraska.
