She retired from Lincoln Public Schools in 1996 after 25 years. She was a life member of VFW #3606 Auxiliary, Helpful Homemakers Extension Club since 1963, and Northeast United Church of Christ in Lincoln. Marian loved her family and hosting gatherings, going to all the grand and great grandchildren events, traveling, camping, playing cards, making Swedish weaving blankets, and spending winters in McAllen, TX with many friends.
She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cathy Storm, her husband, parents, sisters Joyce Beachamp and Audrey Lindborg and son-in-law Randy Schiermann. She is survived by her children Gale Schiermann of Waverly, Dale (Peggy) Storm of Davey, and Kay (Bob) Larsen of Lincoln; grandchildren Kate (Ben) Heppner of Lincoln, Kim (Jake) Bruns of Sterling, Brent (Nicole) Schiermann of Lincoln, Molly Storm of Alexandria, VA, Cory (Allison) Storm of Ceresco, Brooke Larsen of Omaha; great grandchildren Clara Heppner; Allie, Jack, Hope and Ella Bruns; brother Duane Ruppert of Mesa, AZ; many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 4:30 – 8:00 pm, with family greeting from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at Roper & Sons Funeral Home, 4300 “O” Street, Lincoln, NE. Funeral service will be 9:00 am, Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 12:00 pm at Hollst Lawn Cemetery in Yutan.
