A member of the Lincoln community since immigrating from Malaysia as a teenager; he eventually helped most of his family gain US citizenship. He was well respected in the local business and Asian community. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee at The Mill when visiting the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings, embarrassing his children in public with the traditional Chinese brag, attending local arts events, and traveling to various countries.
He is survived by daughter – Emily Chen, son – Philip Chen & daughter-in-law, Melanie Sard, granddaughter – Rosie, his mother – Sally Wong Chen, sisters – Anna Goh, Lucy Tung, Phebee Lee, brothers – John Chen, Paul Chen, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife – Anne Gordon Chen, and father – Thomas Chen.
A memorial will be held in the Spring of 2023.
