A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, with visitation one hour prior, at Roper and Sons Funeral Home, 4300 O St., in Lincoln.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center and Capital Humane Society. Cremation with a private interment will be at a future date.
Shelley was born May 29, 1954, in York to Willard and Jane (Wendell) Graham. After graduating from Columbus High School, she expanded her studies at Wayne State College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with majors in social studies, journalism and home economics. She began working at DHHS in 1978, completing her career as a social worker, where she especially enjoyed her elderly and special-needs clients. She worked many years for H&R Block. Shelley was a talented piano player, seamstress and doll maker.
Survivors include her mother, Jane Wendell Graham; brother, Mark Graham; nephews, Eric Graham and Nicholas (Rose) Graham; great-nephew, Gino; uncles, Bob (Dee) Graham and Roger Graham; several cousins, including Ann (Graham) Danekas who assisted her in her final years; along with her longtime friend, Sue. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Patrick, and her cats.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents, Marion and Clara Graham and John and Grace Wendell.
