Mancel Edgar McGill

April 19, 1930 - December 6, 2021

Mancel Edgar McGill, 91, of Lincoln passed away December 6, 2021. Born April 19, 1930, in rural Waverly, NE to William and Grace (Talcott) McGill.

Mancel served in the Air National Guard during the Korean War. Married Alice Westling January 3, 1953. He farmed north of Waverly his entire life. Mancel was a member of the Bethlehem Covenant Church, Waverly, past member of Unity Lodge #163, A.F. & A.M. in Greenwood, a volunteer at Bryan Hospital and a tour guide at the SAC Museum.

Family members include his son Ronald (Lynda) McGill, Waverly; daughters Sandra Kendrick, Lincoln and Michelle McGill, Omaha; grandchildren Rene (Nicholas) Wemhoff, Candy (Erik) Cartwright, Ashley (Ryan) Daugherty, Benjamin Dabney, Justin (Brandi) McGill, Pamela (Michael) Rust; 8 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, sister Arlene Landon, brother Earnest, and son-in-law Larry Kendrick.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday (12-10-21) Bethlehem Covenant Church, 18841 N. 98th St., Waverly.

Visitation with family present will be from 5-7 pm Thursday at Roper and Sons Waverly Chapel, 10851 N. 148th Street.

I always enjoyed Mancel & Alice arriving early to church. We had some really nice conversations while waiting for the worshippers to arrive. He loved to be a greeter and his clock collection. Mike & Sue Weyeneth
