Steve John Martin

Steve John Martin, 67, passed away July 18, 2021, at his home in Lincoln as he wished with his family at his side. He was born October 4, 1953, in Lincoln, NE to Charles and Clara (Boevink) Martin and was one of six children.

Steve was raised on a farm west of Panama, NE. Farming as a young man is where his love of nature and animals started and stayed with him his entire life.

Steve attended Southeast Community College and became a certified welder.

Steve was a devoted and caring husband and farther. He was a self-taught artist using oils, pencil, wood carving and taxidermy. His many paintings always included nature and animals. He loved taking drives around the countryside looking at wildlife and being an amateur storm chaser, or in the garage smoking one of his hand carved pipes.

Family members include is wife of 44 years, Carolyn; daughter Heather; son Jon (Lisa), all of Lincoln; brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service: 11:00 a.m. Monday (7-26-21) Cheney Cemetery, 84th & Yankee Hill Rd. A reception will be held at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel immediately following the graveside service.

Visitation from 6-8 pm on Sunday at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel. 3950 Hohensee Drive.

Carolyn ~ Jim and I are so sorry to hear about Steve. Always enjoyed our visits in the aisles of Hyvee. Steve was such a hard worker for Jim at the barber shop. He was truly a good man. RIP Steve til we meet admin in Heaven.
